"Après dix-huit mois de pertes de sang permanentes en raison de nombreux fibromes, j'ai été opérée d'une hystérectomie totale inter-anexielle. L'ablation chirurgicale du col et du corps de l'utérus n'est pas sans conséquence: absence définitive de règles, impossibilité irréversible de grossesse, ménopause post-chirurgicale (si associée à l'ablation des ovaires), et effets collatéraux - dont détresse psychologique. Ma prise en charge a été longue et difficile en raison de la désorganisation de notre système de soins: absence d'écoute des personnels médicaux soit par manque de disponibilité, soit par manque d'intérêt, rendez-vous à plusieurs mois, manque cruel d'effectifs (médicaux et soignants), résultats d'examens égarés, absence de suivi psychologique... Au-delà de mon témoignage et du long chemin que j'ai dû parcourir pour arriver au terme de cette prise en charge, je voudrais dénoncer les nombreux manquements auxquels j'ai dû me confronter, tout en me battant contre la maladie, pour améliorer le sort de celles qui devront traverser un jour prochain cette épreuve dans les larmes et le sang. En France, plus de 70 000 femmes sont concernées chaque année.
